In preparation for the 4th Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) meeting that will take place in Ottawa, Canada, Plasticdiet Indonesia, in collaboration with the National Coordination Team for Marine Debris Management (TKN PSL) and the Canadian Embassy in Indonesia, launched the RESIK program (Redefining Solutions on Plastic Pollution Towards Integrated Policy and Knowledge). The RESIK program aims to support Indonesia’s readiness for the Global Plastics Treaty, which will develop a legally binding international instrument (ILBI), through public engagement. One of the series of activities is RESIK Competition designed to increase participants’ understanding of relevant issues.
Out of over 500 registrants who participated in the event, there were 9 main winners from 3 competition categories. These winners successfully created works related to single-use plastic issues through creative approaches that aligned with the judging criteria. The winners received a total cash prize of more than IDR 80 million and certificates of participation.
