Jakarta Plastic Free Market

Plastic Free Market Program in Jakarta was implemented at West Tebet Market, South Jakarta in 2019. Activities in this program were initially carried out to prepare traditional markets in Jakarta to reduce the use of single-use plastic following the upcoming regulations. In collaboration with Jakarta Environmental Service and Perumda Pasar Jaya, Plastic Free Market program in Jakarta achieved: 1. Decrease in the number of kiosks using plastic bags and an increase in consumers carrying eco-friendly shopping bags by 57.37% (December 2019 – January 2021) 2. The number of consumers carrying eco-friendly shopping bags (KBRL) increased by 158.91%. 3. Decrease in the use of large-sized plastic bags by 6.09%, small-sized plastic bags by 11.39%, and plastic bags without handles by 102.36% Plastic Free Market Program at West Tebet Market also collaborates with the religious organization, ‘Aisyiyah, to carry out a broader campaign with a religious approach. The message of reducing plastic use is given in religious activities, starting from Friday sermons, recitations, and also activities with mosque administrators. Tiza has led Diet Plastik Indonesia, and co-founded it, since 2013. She feels grateful that the environmental law knowledge she learned in college can be used to make changes. In her spare time, Tiza enjoys making doll houses out of cardboard for her children and doing water sports. Tiza is an alumna of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (2002) and Harvard Law School (2010).

Pada waktu senggang, Tiza senang membuat rumah boneka dari kardus untuk anak-anaknya dan melakukan olahraga air. Tiza adalah alumna Fakultas Hukum Universitas Indonesia (2002) dan Harvard Law School (2010).
