To celebrate the global movement #PlasticFreeJuly, Plasticdiet Indonesia, along with 7 organizations, has initiated the Plastic Free Parade in Indonesia since 2019. Participated in by hundreds of organizations, communities, and individuals from all over Indonesia, this march aims to call for a reduction in single-use plastic, particularly by influencing regional government policies and the business sector’s responsibility in managing waste in Indonesia.
In 2024, the organizations introduced a new concept – from parade to picnic – with the same spirit of #RefuseSingleUsePlastic. Plastic Free Picnic or Piknik Bebas Plastik brings communities across Indonesia together to reduce single-use plastics and encourage reuse. In July 2025 with support of Plastic Free Foundation, the second edition of Piknik Bebas Plastik was held in one of the biggest parks in Jakarta. From over 370+ visitors, we successfully prevented the use of more than 760+ single use plastics by implementing reuse protocol.
