Bali Plastic Free Market

As a world tourism destination, Bali continues to strive to protect the environment, especially from plastic waste. One of the programs carried out to reduce single-use plastic waste in Bali is by running the Plastic Free Market program at Sindu Market, Sanur, and Guwang Market. This program also supports the implementation of Bali Province Governor Regulation No. 97/2018 concerning Restrictions on the Generation of Single-Use Plastic Waste, which has been implemented quite successfully to reduce plastic waste in Bali Province. Just like other cities, the Plastic Free Market program in Bali is carried out in collaboration with the Bali Province Forestry and Environment Agency and market management by organized activities such as joint discussions with more than 100 traders, competition activities with the local community, and also measuring the impact of the program. From the implementation of the Plastic Free Market program in Bali, this program was achieved by successfully reducing transparent plastic food packaging by 37%.
